Zephyr Support provides high-quality managed IT services to our clients. Our services range from ad-hoc/on-call services to a fully managed in-house IT service where Zephyr Support essentially becomes the IT department of your business.

Our team of certified engineers have a wide range of skills and expertise across a range of products including Microsoft (75% of our engineers hold a Microsoft MCSE certification), Novell, Citrix, Cisco and VMWare.

Because our engineers have different areas of skill and levels of experience, we offer a service where you ‘buy a service as you need it’. This allows you to pay only for the time required for a particular service saving you the inconvenience and cost of hiring a full-time employee for a short or medium term project. Essentially, Zephyr invests in the skills and you only pay for our services when required.

Why should I move my IT needs to zephyr support?

We are attracting more clients as business managers realise the risks around having just one or two ‘IT guys’ who end up holding all the company’s IP; if one gets sick or goes on holiday, the company ends up being at risk as the knowledge of the company’s IT systems walks out the door. Documentation is often non-existent or out of date. This is even more important when you have a single IT resource.

You may find that a single resource can find the monotony of day-to-day support gets stale, and either takes more time off work than expected or creates complex, unnecessary and often expensive IT systems just to have something else to do.

Brett is a proactive, meticulous and a target-driven IT professional, with vast experience in delivering end-to-end enterprise solutions and environments for public and private sector clients worldwide.

Feeling at home and having only arrived into New Zealand from South Africa recently, Brett is enjoying immersing himself into everything Wellington has to offer, and looks forward to a long and prosperous future in New Zealand.

On the technical side of things, Brett designs, installs, configures and maintains technology solutions.

Apart from really enjoying what he does in the IT space, Brett is also a huge sports fanatic and looks forward to some friendly banter cheering on the Boks and Proteas when they take on the All Blacks and Black Caps!

As well as Rugby and Cricket, Brett also loves the great outdoors. Some of his interests includes fly-fishing, running, craft beer and taking his pugs to the beach.

Summary

Tony has been involved in the ICT industry for over 30 years. He has a “technical” background, but in recent years this has broadened to include the various facets of building and operating a successful ICT company. Due to this, he has a broad skillset and this includes very good knowledge and understanding of Finance, Governance, HR, Leadership, Marketing, Strategy and Sales.

Tony has many long term relationships in the ICT industry, both with customers and suppliers, largely from by being friendly, genuine and extremely loyal.

In recent times, he has become very interested on how “Cloud” solutions are able to achieve better outcomes for customers. And what drives him is a passion for helping companies and organisations to use technology, and for them to be successful.

Outside work, Tony's interests includes eating good food, house improvements, sports, socialising and the odd glass of wine.

Wilhelm is a reliable, multi-skilled ICT professional with extensive practical experience in roles including Systems Engineer and ICT Support Engineer. Wilhelm prides himself in going the extra mile to ensure that technology is understood and accessible to everyone, and with his patient and caring attitude builds good and lasting working relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

Outside of work, Wilhelm is a passionate road cyclist with hopes to do some Kiwi races in the near future. In addition to cycling, he enjoys family time with his Wife and two young children and despite his relocation to New Zealand is a die-hard Springboks fan, supporting them through thick and thin.

Summary

With nearly 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, Stephen has worked on many projects from installing and configuring a wide array of hardware, to designing and upgrading VMware virtual environments and designing and implementing Disaster Recovery facilities.

Stephen has gained vast experience in Systems Administration working in South Africa, United Kingdom and of course New Zealand, where he plans to settle down and enjoy the New Zealand way of life after moving down from Auckland to Wellington.

As the case with most South African’s, Stephen enjoys watching a good game of Rugby or Cricket, after having many years of playing school boy and club Rugby in South Africa. Stephen is also now a fully converted All Blacks and Hurricanes supporter.

On a more personal level, Stephen enjoys good food and wine and can’t resist tasting some of the awesome craft beers brewed locally in Wellington. He also enjoys anything to do with aviation and fast cars, as well as exploring either on a mountain bike or by foot.

Summary

Gary has over 30 years in the IT industry, wearing a variety of different hats including Software Development, Network Administration, Business and System Analyst and now currently, as iMIS Consultant at Zephyr specialising in supporting iMIS information management applications.

Prior to joining Zephyr, Gary was a Team Lead managing a team of developers and bespoke systems support team at the Department of Conservation. He is a Prince 2 professional, with ITIL Foundation Certification in IT Service Management and a Certified ICAgile Professional.

Outside of IT, Gary enjoys working on his house. Either trying to keep the weeds away from the garden or repainting the family home where he shares with his wife Shelley, his children Emily and Jordon, and his beloved black spoodle Jett and Lena the cat.

For fun you will find Gary out and about riding his Vespa GT250S or at the movies, he is a terrible sport spectator however as he gets too caught up in the moment. Gary enjoys catching up with his AFL football (due to a secondment to Melbourne for two years in the late 80’s) and Rugby (of course!).

Dempsey has six years experience working with iMIS and finding solutions for membership organisations. Dempsey's specialty is front-end development. Dempsey can help build websites or web applications on practically any platform but his skills really come to the fore if you are using iMIS membership software.

Christian is an experienced software engineer with technical expertise in Linux and Microsoft technologies. His fifteen years experience has seen him working in multiple organizations and industries in the designing, developing and maintenance of systems. Christian is committed to constantly improving software delivery processes and methodologies. He has a strong orientation in DevOps, IT Automation, Continuous Delivery, Configuration Management, cloud technologies and iMIS.

Christian is a very active member in the IT Community in Wellington. He is the founder and organiser for the 'Wellington DevOps Meetup', 'Wellington Web Development Meetup', 'New Zealand PHP Conference', 'Argentina PHP Conference'  and the successful 'ScaleConf New Zealand' - an international conference on Web Performance & Scalability.

In 2013, Christian, and his wife were looking for a challenge in their lives and found New Zealand the perfect place to live with their daughters. Though his friends in Buenos Aires insist that he was "deported" from Argentina as he doesn't eat meat or like football.
